NBI is National Bureau of Investigation. It’s the Philippines’ version of FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation). NBI clearance is always required if you will be traveling abroad, working overseas or for local employment.
I renewed my NBI Clearance today at SM Megamall lower ground floor building B. I was there 11:30am and managed to find the of the looonngg line by 12 noon. Finished all the steps in processing the NBI clearance renewal by 3:30pm.
Here are the steps in renewing NBI clearance in the Philippines as stated in the posted in the NBI clearance renewal office:
- Payment – this is the inundating long line that you must endure. The NBI Clearance is in the lower ground floor and the line went all the way up to the fifth floor and down! Imagine that!Payment is Php115.00 for the renewal. If you want, you can avail the NBI clearance card (take note though that this is not a card nor the clearance it self). The card is used to make the NBI clearance renewal super fast. That is, no line, just scan and you’re done…. supposedly.
- Taking Your Picture – next step if for you to take smile in front of a web cam so they can take your photo for the NBI clearance.
- Claim/Issuance – The final step, step 3 is the issuing of the NBI clearance.
The whole process for step 2 and step 3 approximately took around 15 to 30 mins. Step 1 took 3 hours. Are you going to renew your NBI clearance? Hope this article helped and… goodluck!
