Facing the Fear

Everyone has a fear and mine is sleeping in the dark. It’s very common in kids but rare for people at my age but it’s something that has to be overcomed.
There’s really no rationality behind fears and often they are caused by something that happened in the past which you cannot get over. For me, it was something I read from an urban ghost story book that has kept me from sleeping in darkness for the last couple of years.
Having this fear is not healthy however and I am slowly starting to overcome it. I’ve decided that I should decrease the amount of light bit by bit until eventually I grow comfortable with total darkness.
Worth a thousand words

They say a picture’s worth a thousand words and I agree.
One of my most favorite pictures are the ones that were taken candidly. For me, they say more about the subjects in the photos rather than those where they are posed.
Candid shots are genuine and honest. If captured nicely, they show you the essence of the moment and what’s truly going on in the scene.
People tend to be more self conscious when asked to stay still and pose for the camera. They project a facade that they want the world to see. Sometimes it may be the true them, but oftentimes it’s not.
Pictures are worth a thousand words but they’re worth even more when the shot is candid.
Filipino Films

I’ve never had any appreciation for Filipino films simply because I find them too predictable, too corny, and ultimately, too shallow. There are some that are good but majority of the films being produced, especially the ones being produced these days are too full of the three things that I’ve previously mentioned.
Despite majority of the population watching and liking these films, I personally think watching them is a waste of time. That in itself is a sad fact. I would have gladly join those who love our own but how could I when the one’s responsible for creating the movies don’t even make them worth it.
I hope that one day it would improve.
Growing

The growing never stops for everyone as we age both mentally, emotionally, and physically. Everyone wants to grow mentally and emotionally and there’s really no stopping any growth. Physically however, we can’t help how we grow; taller, wider, or heavier.
Growing physically is the only growth we can at the very least control. Of course you can’t control how tall you get but you can control that extra weight that stacks on our bodies as we grow older.
People who don’t gain weight as they grow older are rare because they have that innate gene that keeps their metabolism fast. It is a universal fact however that with age, metabolism also slows down thus causing the unwanted weight gain.
There are ways to curb those of course; thank god for exercise and proper diet.
