BlackBerry tablet computer poised for debut: WSJ

Research In Motion may debut a tablet computer next week at a conference for developers that tailor software for the Canadian firm’s BlackBerry smartphones, according to the Wall Street Journal.

RIM responded to an AFP inquiry with a terse email stating that the company’s “standard policy is to decline comment on rumors and speculation.”

A tablet computer referred to unofficially as the “BlackPad” is due for release by RIM by the end of the year, prompting talk that it will be introduced at a Devcon 2010 gathering beginning in San Francisco on Monday.

The Journal cited unnamed insiders as saying BlackPad will have a seven-inch touch-screen, built-in cameras, and link wirelessly to cellular networks through BlackBerry smartphones.

BlackBerry smartphones have been under pressure from Apple iPhones and handsets running on Google-backed Android software.

Apple earlier this year unleashed a new titan into the mobile arena in the form of its hot-selling iPad tablet computers and firms have been racing to field competing devices.

Nikon Officially Announces The D7000, Two Pro Lenses and a Speed Light

Nikon has officially announced the D7000, a camera that we’ve know about for quite some time now through various rumors. The camera replaces the Nikon D90, and has a number of interesting upgrades: 11 autofocus points has been increased to a whopping 39-point system, the megapixel count has been increased from 12.3 to 16.2, the 96% viewfinder coverage has been replaced with pro-level 100% coverage, parts are now beefed up with magnesium alloy, one SD card slot has been increased to two, 4.5 fps has been upped to 6fps, ISO can be boosted up to 25,600 (up from 6,400), and the camera now does 1080p video recording at 24fps.

The camera will be out mid-October for the price of $1,200 for the body only.

The 35mm f/1.4 will be available mid-November for $1800, and the 200mm f/2 will hit stores in early October at a price of $6000.

The SB-700 replaces the SB-600, and will cost $330 when it’s out in November. It’s aimed at photo-enthusiasts and is meant to be easy to use, sophisticated, and compact.

There is no doubt that the most popular mobile phone internet phone today is the iPhone (3GS). Everybody wants one but with a steep price both for pre-paid and post paid plans, many of us are (well, me) are satisfied of just reading reviews, browsing apps and basically just drooling and dreaming of having one.

I was in the Cyberzone (Megamall Bldg B) this afternoon scouring every store there of the best laptops (I just lost my Dell Latitude D630… another story) both in price and specs. Playing your ipod on Mazda 3 stereo system using the MD/Tape source is very possible. That’s is what I did today using the Axxess Ipod board that slips at the back of the car’s stereo head unit.

I want to believe that I am a music lover. Me and my 30G 3rd Gen Ipod are together for almost 3 years now and I am still satisfied with its performance.. sounds, well it depends on the ear buds. Ever since I bought my first car, a 2005 Mazda 3 sedan, I always wanted to play my ipod in its stereo unit.. I saw this board being sold once, but it’s out of stock.. then i stumble upon this Axxess one.. and it arrived yesterday and installed it today and it worked as expected.. well, almost.
